zambina's nursery

As Scott says, our little girl's room is the nicest in the house.  I have to agree.  I love walking by, looking in, and feeling so peaceful and happy that it is pretty much done.  It still needs some decorations on the walls, but it is all organized and ready to go.  I even have the inside of the drawers labeled and organized!
We found a soft, fuzzy, rug at Target that added the perfect finishing touch.  We have been enjoying sitting in the glider chair with Kekoa and he loves the new carpet!  I find him in his little sister's room, playing on the carpet or checking it out.  It is really cute.

So many clothes!!  All organized by months.

All ready for you baby girl!

We got a doula!!

Wow, I can't believe how lucky we are.  Scott's friend at work, Amy, is a doula and is going to be our doula at no charge!!  What a wonderful and nice person she is.  She came over today so we could meet and chat.  I am super excited about this.  We didn't have a doula for Kekoa's birth and really could have used one.  It will be so awesome to have another person at the birth that knows different birthing positions and places to massage and to give Scott a break when he needs it.  It is also really nice to have another person in our corner, supporting our decision to have a natural birth.  I still can't believe it.

35 week belly

35 weeks

I am feeling fully 35 weeks pregnant right now.
Braxton-Hicks contractions?  check
uncomfortable to sit? check
uncomfortable to lie down?  check
feeling like a beached whale?  check
not sleeping well at all?  check

I swear my belly is growing exponentially by the minute!  I had a doctor's visit yesterday and everything is looking great.  Baby zambina is measuring 35 cm, right where she should be.  Her heart beat was 145 bpm, which is good. I have gained a pound since my last visit, so moving right along in the weight gain department. :)

The Braxton-Hicks contractions are crazy.  I don't remember having so many when I was pregnant with Kekoa.  My belly gets all tight and uncomfortable.  Dr. Teagle said it is normal to have more this time, especially since I am running around after a toddler.

My cervix is still tight as can be, no signs that she wants to come out anytime soon.  I really hope this little girl isn't going to try and go to 41 weeks like her big brother!  That was just too stressful.

She is still moving like crazy, running out of space in her living room, but still active.  It never ceases to amaze me when I feel her in there.  There is a little person in my tummy, ready to come out soon!  She also gets the hiccups ALL the time, my whole body shakes.  It is really cute to think of her in there, hiccuping away.

I was able to go run some errands after my appointment...crossing more things off the "to do" list.  I found some perfect storage baskets for her room.  I just love the Container Store, they have everything. Why is it so expensive to get organized?  All the storage baskets and other organizational things are so expensive. I could have gone crazy, but just bought a few things that I needed right now.

I have never wanted to organize and get everything together so badly.  It is like I have no control over it.  I wish I was like this all the time, but I have a feeling this all has to do with that nesting instinct. Plus, I know when she comes, I will be too exhausted to care.  It does feel good now thought to get things in place.

I guess my one real big complaint right now is the sleeping thing.  Why is it that now, when I desperately want a good night sleep, my body says "no way Jose".  I can't get comfortable and just don't sleep well.  I am so happy that I have my sleep pillow, otherwise I couldn't stand laying in the bed.

We are all just super anxious to meet this little zambina.  I can't believe it is getting so close!!

her hand

Last night, while Scott and I were sitting on the couch, baby zambina was moving around like crazy.  I was trying to get comfortable, but her bony little body parts kept pushing out on my tummy...not very comfortable at all!  Scott put his hand on my belly and exclaimed that he could feel her hand.  We really could, it felt like her little fingers, pressing out and saying hello!  It was so amazing. I can't wait to meet this little girl.
